Humans have a physiological need that cannot be avoided from the moment of birth, and that is food and nutrition.
In this regard, in national world view of the individual and society, in addition to the words "food, nutrition", the
concept of "dastarkhan" also exists. In Kazakh national worldview concept of "dastarkhan" is a very complicated
representative of national mentality of the Kazakhs. The given paper considers such characteristic feature of the Kazakh
people as a hospitality, which is closely connected with the term "dastarkhan". At the same time, the author compares
associative fields of the aforementioned concept in the traditional and modern cultures. Key words: spiritual values, hospitality, dastarkhan, concept, associative experiment/survey, value.
