Introduction
: Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is one of the ten most
common pathologies of the posterior segment of the eye. Among other retinopathies,
it ranks fourth in the incidence structure after age-related macular degeneration
(AMD), diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion.
As a putative cause of the
development of the subretinal neovascular membrane (SNM), CSC is ranked second
only to AMD.
The disease has become widespread and, therefore, of particular relevance at
the present time due to the characteristic tendency of modern life to intense nervous
stress, which is one of the key risk factors for the development of this pathology.
