Аnnotation
Today options are popular and rapidly gaining popularity derivative tool in finance. We
will consider equation by Black and Scholes which is used to estimate the option’s cost over
time. If we consider options as European type, then the considered equation would be a boundary
value type of problem of a diffusion type equation. If American option, then the equation would
be as free boundary value type problem. In 1960, traders tried to predict the option’s price using
mathematical formulas, as the option began to be used in the OTC commodity and stock options
market in the United States. The option was purchased only as "assurance" against sharp cost
increases. Over time, traders have sought to resell similar options. However, it was difficult
because nobody knew how much the option would cost.
Robert Merton, Scholes, and Black came out with the new model of option’s costing in 1973.
This equation firstly used on Chicago Board Options Exchange and American Stock Exchange
as the standard model of option’s pricing. Considered equation gives opportunity to estimate the
option’s cost by basic financial asset’s volatility change which is changes over time. However,

we should remember that it gives not exact solution, just approximate solution for each type of
option. That is why even for this formula we add some hypothesis to take solution.
