The rescue A noisy dog frightened Kitty. She scrambled to the top of a tall tree.
Topsy and Tim could not help kitty to come down. Mommy and Dad could not help kitty to come down either. Mr. Rupert from next door came to help. So did a lot of friends. But all they couldn’t get kitty down from the tree. “It’s not good”, said Dad. “We must send for the Fire Brigade”. Topsy and Tim heard a loud siren coming nearer. A big fire-engine with flashing blue lights stopped by Topsy and Tim’s front garden. The firemen were laughing. “Fire-officer Fred to the rescue!” said the driver. The firemen got out a very high ladder. Fire-officer Fred stood at the top of it. He managed to catch Kitty and bring her down safely. “Thanks very much for the rescue”, said Topsy and Tim. “Oh, that was easy”, said Fire-officer Fred.
