14. Healthy lifestyle
Health is very important in life of every person. It depends on our lifestyle, products we eat and habits we have. Health is much more precious than money, gold or some other stuff. So what things help us to stay healthy?!
Health and nutritious food. Eating fast food with high level of calories from salt, sugar and fats lead to such diseases as obesity, diabetes and others. Food is a key element of our good health. Eating healthy, nutritious and vitamin-rich products can improve your health. Fruit and vegetables are natural resources of vitamins A, B, C and E and other useful substances. Bread, dairy products, nuts and low-fat meat give you a large amount of energy and nutritious elements.
Bad habits. A person with bad habits risks to get a lot of illnesses. Smoking cigarettes shortens your life and can cause cancer. Drinking alcohol ruins your organism, destroys your nervous system and leads to liver disfunction. Taking drugs causes addiction and a large number of such illnesses as cancer, AIDS and tuberculosis. If you want to live a long and healthy life you should give up all your bad habits.

15. Happiness
What makes you happy? Maybe it's not what you think ... Do you know what makes you happy or do you just think you know? At first, these two questions look the same. If you think something makes you happy, then it makes you happy. You know yourself, don’t you? Write a list of all the things that make you happy. How many of them are fun? Most of them? So, if you spend your time doing all these fun things, you’ll be really happy, won’t you? Well, maybe not. For most people, fun isn’t enough for real happiness. Paul Dolan wrote a book called Happiness by Design. He thinks happiness comes from both pleasure and purpose. If most of the things on your list are about pleasure, that is what you think makes you happy. But you also need activities with purpose. We usually know if something is fun, but we don’t know what brings meaning. For example, most people think air pilots have jobs with clear purpose. They fly hundreds of people all over the world. But they spend a lot of time in boring hotels and airports and they do the same things hundreds of times. Those activities might not bring meaning – and they’re probably not fun. So pilots also need to find pleasure and purpose in their work and life. There are different ways we can find purpose in things.

16. My Vacation.
I arranged to stay in a farmhouse outside a village in southern Italy. My itinerary said that the plane arrived in Italy at five o’clock in the afternoon and it was a thirty-minute drive from the airport to the village. I wanted to get to my destination before it got dark, so I could have a drink, watch the sunset, and enjoy an evening meal!
The problems began at Heathrow airport. My plane was three hours late. I walked around the airport, looked in the shops, and drank coffee in the cafe. I didn’t eat anything. That was a mistake! When the plane finally took off, they gave me a cold, tasteless meal which I couldn’t eat.
We arrived in Italy in the early evening. The sun was setting as I was collecting my bags! I missed it completely! I went to the desk to find my hire car and that’s when I discovered the next problem. The receptionist couldn’t find my name on the computer and there were no more cars. There were no buses or trains to the village, and the taxis were on strike.
The receptionist felt sorry for me. She phoned her brother, Alessandro, who agreed to take me to the village. Alessandro arrived in a very old car and we set off. Fifteen minutes later … we broke down. I was tired, depressed, and very, very hungry. Luckily, Alessandro was a mechanic. After an hour, he fixed the car and we started driving again.
It was nearly midnight when we arrived at the farmhouse. A man opened the door and smiled. ‘Come in,’ he said. ‘We waited for you.’ I sat with a group of the friendliest people I’ve ever met and had an absolutely wonderful meal.

17. My Favourite Animal
People of ages are very fond of animals. Everyone likes to spend time with their pets. Being in the same environment with your beloved pets can cheer you up when you feel low and have a companion to confide in. Just like people, animals too show their affection through many gestures.
Though we know that there are several dangerous animal species, humans commonly adopt some of the least dangerous ones. Many train their pets. They teach them little tricks and also to behave to get more familiar with human life.
Unlike humans, animals respond with all their love and affection. They would never harm us with malicious intentions. Regardless of its birds or animals, pets have a special bond with their masters.
But when one asks me which is my most favourite animal in this world—a dog always comes to my mind first. Dogs wrap a blanket of security and love for humans. Many adopt dogs because of their wealthy lifestyle, some to increase their home’s security. However, many do it for their unconditional love for these furry friends.
One of the features that make me love dogs is their loyalty towards their master or companion. I still remember the day that my father adopted a dog into our family of four. My dog, Zozo, is now our 5th family member. A dog’s loyalty is unprecedented.
Most dogs have a very soft fleece of fur, and, it makes it so comforting to pet their soft body. They share their warmth with us emotionally and physically as they are one of the most affectionate among all the domestic animals.

19. Chris’s Daily Routine
My name is Chris and I’m 15 years old. I live with my family in a villa in South Los Angeles and go to school nearby at Linton High. I enjoy cycling there every morning and coming back home after school. I also like jogging, watching TV and collecting stamps. The place where I live is very quiet the usual suburban area with cats and dogs and people watering their gardens.
I was born on 5th October 1990 and came out of my Mom’s womb* kicking* and screaming. She can tell you. I have 2 sisters, one older, the other one younger, but they are not too much trouble. I get along with them just fine. Sometimes we argue about this and that, but I usually win the argument because I’m very clever.
My best mate’s name is Rufus and he lives a few blocks away. We like exchanging stamps and jogging together. We’re also experts at downloading music and spend hours doing so.
I get up every day at 7.15 am and brush my teeth. After eating a hearty breakfast, I always have to run for the bus. Mornings are spent at school talking to friends and listening to boring teachers. I spend my afternoons doing what I like … well, that and homework. At 11 pm I go to bed, tired after a long day. That’s how I live my life.
