| Phonetics
Phonetics is a branch of linguistics, phenomena of the language process related to the production and perception of sounds, movements of articulation organs and processes in the hearing aid, or similar motor-visual phenomena in the case of sign language. All phonetics units are divided into segmental and supersegment. Segmental units are units that can be distinguished in the speech flow: sounds, syllables, phonetic words (rhythmic structures, clock), phonetic phrases (syntagmas).Supersegmental units (intonation means) - units that are superimposed on segmental units: melodic units (tone), dynamic (stress) and temporal (tempo or duration). Phonetics is divided into general, comparative, historical and descriptive. General phonetics considers the patterns characteristic of the sound system of all world languages. Comparative phonetics compares the sound structure of the language with other languages. Historical phonetics traces the development of language over a fairly long period of time (sometimes since the appearance of one particular language - its separation from the language). There are hundreds of spelling alternatives that can be used to represent the 44 English phonemes. Only the most common sound / letter relationships need to be taught explicitly. The 44 English sounds can be divided into two major categories – consonants and vowels. A consonant sound is one in which the air flow is cut off, either partially or completely, when the sound is produced. In contrast, a vowel sound is one in which the air flow is unobstructed when the sound is made. The vowel sounds are the music, or movement, of our language. The 44 phonemes represented below are in line with the International Phonetic Alphabet. Билет-3 Florence Nightingale –the founder of the nursing.
