Abstract. The article considers language club as one of the forms of extracurricular
activities which helps to develop patriotic feeling and national morale through the example of
practical experience of one of the authors (Rudenko Ann) in the youth club “ЛиСа”. The
significance of nurturing patriotism and culture of international communication to studends is
proved. Some examples of how students understand the meaning of “patriotism” are given. The
importance of contact with other languages and cultures for strengthening the feeling of love for
the motherhood and awareness of the uniqueness of its culture is also highlighted.
