THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE FORMATION OF US FOREIGN POLICY AT THE
BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY
Resume
This article deals with effective theories that affect the main directions of US foreign policy. The ideas of
representatives of the realism and members of the Western political trend, the assumptions of the theories of
idealism, liberalism, which had a significant impact on the formation of foreign policy thought were studied. In
the article the author describes the emergence and development of the post-positivism paradigm associated with
the intellectual crisis. The article defines the ideas and theses that influenced the formation of US foreign policy.
An analysis of the main ideas and concepts of well-known American researchers was also explored.
