To practice teaching writing skills
Equipment:
white interactive board/computer, projector, speakers
Content and tasks:
1. Reading about teaching writing and writing subskills.
2. Presenting an episode of a lesson.
Procedure:
Stage 1
(Practical). Present an episode of a lesson for teaching writing subskills.
Stage 2
(Theoretical and Practical). Discussion questions and feedback on
presentations.
Questions for discussion:
∙%1 What was the pupils' age group? Was the presentation age appropriate?
∙%1 What was the topic of the lesson? Was language material contextualized?
∙%1 Did the teacher use various interaction patterns?
∙%1 Did the pupils enjoy the lesson?
∙%1 Was the teacher positive? Was s/he confident?
∙%1 Were the activities/exercises effective?
∙%1 Was the sequence logical?
∙%1 How is the material going to be reinforced later?
∙%1 What recommendations can you give?
