every Friday. Teachers try to develop some

Sentence transformation A type of task in which students are given a sentence and have to complete a
second sentence so that it means the same as the first, e.g.

Silent period The time when students who are beginning to learn a first or second language
prefer to listen (or read) for some time before producing the language.
Silent Way This method is called ''silen'' because the aim of the teacher is to say as little as
possible in order that the learner can be in control of what he wants to say. No use
is made of the mother tongue.
