Abstract. This article discusses the effectiveness of a temperature measuring device – a cable thermocouple as a result of comparing a simple conductor with a thermocouple, and presents the results of a study of its properties and the advantages of the sensor.
The industry and energy of the requirement to the accuracy of measurement and regulation of temperature of technological process steadily increase in modern science.
Currently, thermoelectric converters made of thermocouple cable are widely used all over the world. The thermocouple cable is widely used in the manufacture of thermoelectric converters of general industrial and explosion-proof designs.
The undoubted advantages of cable TP are higher thermoelectric stability and working life compared to wire thermal converters, the possibility of bending, installation in hard-to-reach places, while the length of the TP can reach 60-100 meters, versatility for various operating conditions, good manufacturability, low material consumption, the ability to withstand high operating pressures, the possibility of use in aggressive environments, such as liquid metal heat carriers, production of thermal converters based on them in protective covers of block-modular design, providing additional protection of thermoelectrodes from the influence of the working environment and creating the possibility of rapid replacement of the thermosensitive element.
