EXERCISES


1. Exercises on deep breath
a. Draw a slow full breath through the nose. Hold your breath counting 1.2.3. Then exhale slowly and completely. Repeat 10 times.
b. Choose a long paragraph from a book. Take a deep breath and begin reading the paragraph without stopping. Read as many words as possible.


2. Exercises for the mouth opening
a. Press the lips together. Open the mouth as wide as possible. Close the mouth gradually in 3 equal parts. Practice counting 1.2.3.4
b. Pronounce the sounds [æ], [e], [ʌ]. Is the mouth opening different or the same?


3. Exercises for the lips
a. Press the lips together. Open the mouth. Round the lips. Repeat 10 times
b. Press the lips together. Open the mouth. Protrude the lips. Repeat 10 times
c. Pronounce the sounds [m], [p], [b], [w], [f], [v]


4. Exercises for the tongue
a. Open the mouth. Put the tip of the tongue to the lower teeth. Press it against the upper teeth.
b. Open the mouth. Draw the tip of the tongue forward. Then draw it backward.
c. Open the mouth. Put the tip of the tongue to the edge of the teeth and blow the air out.
d. Open the mouth. Put the tip of the tongue to the inner side of the upper teeth. Then touch the teeth ridge.
e. Pronounce the sounds [t], [d], [tʃ], [l], [r]. Mind the position of the tongue.
