Lecture discussion
Unlike a lecture conversation here the teacher at a statement of lecture material not only uses answers of children to the questions, but also will organize free exchange of opinions in intervals between logical sections.
The discussion is an interaction of the teacher and pupils, free exchange of opinions, ideas and views on the studied question.
It recovers educational process, stirs up cognitive activity of audience and that is very important, allows the teacher to operate collective opinion of a class, to use him for belief, overcoming negative installations and wrong opinions of some pupils. The effect is reached only at the correct selection of questions for a discussion and skillful, purposeful management by it.
It is also possible to suggest pupils to analyse and discuss concrete situations, material. On the lecture discussion course the teacher gives separate examples in the form of situations or briefly the formulated problems and suggests pupils to discuss shortly, then the short analysis, conclusions and a lecture proceeds.
The choice of questions for activization of listeners and a subject for discussion, is formed the teacher depending on specific didactic tasks which the teacher sets for himself for this audience.
9.Method of "a round table"
This group of methods includes: different types of seminars and discussions. The principle of collective discussion of the problems studied in an education system is the cornerstone of this method. The main goal of such occupations consists in providing to children a possibility of practical use of theoretical knowledge in conditions, the modeling forms of activity of scientists.
Such occupations, according to A. M. Matyushkin, are intended to provide development of creative thinking of professional thinking, informative motivation and professional use of knowledge in educational conditions. Professional use of knowledge is a free language proficiency of the corresponding science, scientific accuracy of operating by formulations, concepts, determinations. Pupils shall learn to act as speakers and opponents, to own skills of statement and the solution of intellectual problems and tasks, proofs and confutations, to argue the point of view, to show the reached level of theoretical preparation.
In it the unity of the theory and practice in scientific work which conditions are created on occupations the received name of a method of "a round table" where pupils use knowledge gained at lessons is also shown.
These occupations are closely connected with all types of study, first of all with lecture and independent occupations. Therefore efficiency of a seminar in many respects depends on quality of lectures and independent preparation.
At schools seminars of research type with subject, independent of a lecture rate, which purpose is profound studying of separate scientific and practical problems which future specialist will face are widely adopted.
Primary subjects of a rate which assimilation determines quality of professional training are submitted for occupations of "a round table"; questions, the most difficult for understanding and assimilation. Such subjects are discussed collectively that provides active participation of each pupil.
The arrangement of pupils on such occupations is of great importance. Therefore it is the best of all that students sat in a circular arrangement that allows to feel the participant equal. From here and name of this method of "a round table".
The teacher also shall be in a circle with pupils if he separately sits, then participants of a discussion turn the statements only to it, but not each other. It is noticed that such arrangement of participants the person to each other, leads to activity increase, increase in number of statements. The teacher's arrangement in a circle helps it to manage group and creates less formal situation, an opportunity for personal inclusion of everyone in communication, increases motivation of children, turns on nonverbal means of communication.
