Further plans and state language program for 2020-2025

Current English language proficiency in Kazakhstan
When the final implementation of the reform was six months away, it turned out that
there were not enough English teachers in Kazakhstan. Testing showed that two-thirds of
English teachers in mainstream schools found very poor results. The EF EPI English proficiency
index is determined based on the results of a test involving at least 400 people from a given
country. By recent data of ef.kz Kazakhstan is ranked 93rd place in English language proficiency
with an index of 43.83%, which is very low. According to the rating, the situation with
knowledge of the world's most widely spoken language is getting worse every year in
Kazakhstan(1-graph).

Further plans and state language program for 2020-2025
Kazakhstan plans to adopt the state language program for 2020-2025. The program
provides for the modernization of the Kazakh language on the basis of a new latin alphabet and
the expansion of the use of the state language. As for trilingualism, developers expect to achieve
the following target indicators(2-graph).
2-graph. The percentage of the population of the Republic who speak three languages at a
certain level (State, Russian and English)in 2020 – 26%, in 2021 – 27%, in 2022 – 28%, in 2023
– 29%, in 2024 – 30%, in 2025 – 31%.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the main important thing in this case is a progress. Because if we do not
grow and make progress as Kazakhstan Republic’s citizens we will fail with or without the
national identity. In modern conditions the strategic resource of Republic is a high intellect and
extra technical knowledge is economical growth factor. We can’t keep the past in our minds
without accepting the outer change, we can remember it and be proud of it, but the major issue
must be in building a new strong Republic. The young generation will build up the future that’s
why it is important to grow them up strong and smart. Like Confucius said “If your plan is for

one year, plant rice. If your plan is for ten years, plant trees. If your plan is for 100 years, educate
children.”
