Explanatory note
The development of modern pedagogical technologies, targeted realization of IT
facilities in the educational system caused research in such areas as projecting and
developing computer support for teaching academic subjects; determining a place
of IT facilities in every subject; determining the teacher’s role in coordinating
teaching process when applying computer support; necessity of determining the
correct proportion between IT method of teaching and other methods of teaching;
applying active teaching methods; developing methods of expertizing pedagogical
products. Changes in modern educational system are provided by orienting at
fundamentalization and continuous professional education, at satisfying human
educational demands, demands of the society and labor market. It caused change of
the objectives and meaning of the professional education. The modern humanistic
concept of education defines three basic objectives for all academic subjects: to
reveal fundamentals of science; to systemize and synthesize knowledge, abilities
and skills; to provide revealing and developing learners’ abilities through realizing
the first two objectives. For realizing those objectives the modern professional
education needs development of a new methodology based on integration
processes, in which all the parts of the educational system interrelating with the
society and human beings, is becoming an object of research.
The objective of teaching the discipline «Profession oriented foreign language
(introduction into professional communications)» is developing a basic level of
students’ professional communicative foreign language competence, which
provides them with the skills of oral and written speech related to their professional
activities, of working at special materials, of translating special texts from and into
the foreign language.
Tasks of teaching the discipline «Profession oriented foreign language
(introduction into professional communications)» are the following:
To provide a student with the idea of the place, role, kinds of oral and written
communication in professional activity; of main sources of professional
information in the foreign language; of world tendencies of the appropriate science
and technique development;
To deliver to students the following knowledge: terms for the subjects of the
chapters studied, corresponding to appropriate situations of professional and
business communication; basic international symbols and designations;
requirements for drawing up and maintaining documentation (within the program),
appropriate to the professional and business communication; regulations of
communicative behavior in situations of international professional and business
communication (within the program);
To teach students:

To apply grammar, appropriate for professional foreign language (within the
program);
To apply terms learnt when speaking;
To verbalize symbols, formulas, charts and diagrams;
To understand information, distinguish between main and secondary things,
essence and details in professional texts (oral and written) within the subjects
studied;
To retrieving professional texts (oral and written);
To induce discourse (monologue, dialogue) using communicative strategies,
adequate to the profession-oriented situations studied (telephone talks, interview,
presentation, etc.);
To produce written texts in the genres and formats studied;
To annotate professional texts;
To translate professional texts from foreign into Kazakh (Russian) language
(within the subjects studied);
To prepare for and do presentations on the topic given (within the program). The
discipline «Profession oriented foreign language (introduction into professional
communications)», provided by the curriculum for third-year students, is a
component of a graduate’s three-cyclic foreign language training. Successful
acquiring the discipline material makes a graduate more competitive on the modern
work market, where knowledge of a profession-oriented foreign language is
necessary, as Kazakhstan takes more important place in the world. The role and
importance of the discipline is also great in the sphere of inter-disciplinary
connections, as together with pure mathematical sphere the discipline contents is
supposed to include the knowledge of business language, general scientific
language, work connected with correspondence and ability to do presentations.
The requirement for «Profession oriented foreign language (introduction into
professional communications)» cycle is the first cycle of training (the discipline
“Foreign language”, 1st-2d academic years), as well as the disciplines of the
educational program on the specialty (Math analysis, Differential equations, Linear
Algebra and Analytical Geometry), general educational disciplines (History of
Kazakhstan, Philosophy, Social science, Political science). «Profession oriented
foreign language (introduction into professional communications)», in its turn,
develops fundamentals and motivation for further learning and application of the
professional foreign language in the educational process, at a writing of degree
works and reports of practice in the third cycle of training. The contents of the
discipline is structured in the form of two modules interconnected on the principle
of hierarchy and integrity. Training is based on innovation educational

technologies. The discipline program is made on the basis of competent, context-
active and communicative approaches.
Choosing contents of the discipline «Profession-oriented foreign language
(introduction to professional communication)» is realized on the basis of analyzing
social-pedagogic factors in accordance with a graduate’s specialization in math
area and teaching Mathematics. The study process is based on innovation
educational technologies. For successful teaching it is necessary to have a
computer classroom with a package of learning programs, a linguistic laboratory
equipped with audio and video facilities. A projector is advised.
The specific of the discipline is that it provides only practice lessons.
