USING SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING THE
GEOLOCATION IN THE WORLD AND THEIR ANALOGS IN KAZAKHSTAN
(Kazakh-British Technical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan)
Abstract. This article will touch the topic of satellite navigation systems in various spheres
of human activity, make life not only easier and more interesting, but also safer. It covers locating a
specific object, attaching geographic metadata to information resources, tracking the movement of
certain objects with high accuracy.
Keywords: satellite navigation, GPS, GLONASS, smart-city.
Nowadays the using of satellite navigation systems is ubiquitous, from mobile applications
to determine the current geolocation, ending the monitoring of changing the position of Earth's
tectonic plates.
Many widely used software products aimed at determining the coordinates of the device. It
could be cars, mobile phones, and computers. Almost all mobile phones are equipped with the latest
generation beacon that can inform on the whereabouts of its owner. Determine the location of the
user and internet services - to take at least a Google map, which anywhere in the world find your
location easily.

Geolocation is widely used in retail, banking, and telecom - for all these branches
communication with customers on a geographic basis is necessary. And ordinary townspeople is
difficult to imagine themselves without the satellite navigator in a big city, after all, this technology
saves time in selecting the optimal route, searching the necessary organization on the map and its
location relative to the current location of the user. As an example 2GIS mobile application became
very popular now.
US satellite constellation GPS (Global Positioning System), and more recently, sometimes
Russian equivalent GLONASS, or a combination thereof are usually used for satellite navigation.
At the present time positioning accuracy of the GLONASS system lags behind similar indicators for
GPS. According SDCM (Russian system of differential correction and monitoring) on September
18, 2012 GLONASS navigation definitions errors in longitude and latitude were 3-6 m. At the same
time, GPS error is of 2-4 m.[1]
When using both navigation systems, there is a significant increase in accuracy. European
EGNOS project (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), uses signals of both systems
provides precision positioning in Europe at the level of 1.5-3 meters. [2]
These navigation technology used in the "ERA-GLONASS" - the Russian state system of
emergency response in case of accidents, an analogue of which in Kazakhstan is a system "EVAK"
(Emergency Call System with accidents and disasters).
Feature "EVAK" system is that the transmission of the vehicle location signal is triggered
when the call device emergency services in the event of road traffic and other accidents on the
roads, as reported in the Ministry of Transport and Communications. This system can reduce the
number of fatalities of road accidents. [3]
In addition to safety, transport logistics is also important for the development of smart-city.
For example, vehicles that deliver goods to stores can be equipped with transmitters, GPS-
coordinates that are passed to the server using a sim-card in the office and are superimposed on the
map. Information comes in real time. Employees monitor map speeding vehicles, deviation from the
planned route, the easy transport and the opening of the body outside the company's facilities.
Speaking about the technologies that are already in use in Almaty is mobile application
"City bus". An important function of which is the surveillance of the movement of urban shuttle
buses.
Using the knowledge that humanity has and the experience we need to develop and
implement the satellite navigation system for the entire country, because the potential use of these
systems is very high. For pragmatically minded people these services are the ability to generate new
business. And for the majority of ordinary citizens geolocation is service, a new feature, such as
mobile communication, without which they cannot imagine their life.

STUDENTS’ SCHEDULE MODIFYING SYSTEM IN THE AUTOMATED
INFORMATIONAL-EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM "OFFICE REGISTRAR"
(Kazakh-British Technical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan)
ABSTRACT
This article describes the process of scheduling of lessons for high school students and
teachers. In addition, was given an example of automated informational-educational system at
university. The main point of article could be an idea of students which improves the sides of given
system.
Keywords: scheduling process, informational-educational system, Kazakh-British Technical
University, IOS application, schedule modifying.
1.
INTRODUCTION
A schedule is being prepared at dean's office, where student registered. The process of
scheduling takes into account important factors such as the number of students, the existing
disciplines, the number of auditors and their equipment, calculation and distribution of the teaching
load.In preparation of all these factors are involved decision-makers such managers and assistants
of dean’s office. The scheme of work is simple, taking into account the number of students and the
list of disciplines, the process of distribution of groups of students in the classroom with the
necessary equipment, taking into account teaching and discipline’s load. The traditional method
involves the calculation of all data using the mental and physical strength dean’s office employees.
That is, to carry out the whole process of scheduling, managers and assistants of the department will
be required to calculate the indicators based on the original data. Ultimately, a student or a group
receive their individual study schedule.
2. AUTOMATED INFORMATIONAL-EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM "OFFICE
REGISTRAR"
In regard of optimize the process, universities have department (registrar office) which
involved in all the above mentioned processes in the preparation of the students’ schedule.
Employees of this department perform the same duties faced by the managers of dean’s office. In
contrast, the registrar office employees divide the entire process for certain small parts and each
employee is only concerned with his own. From that comes the workload distribution that follows
the acceleration of the process [3].
For convenience, the universities have developed and implemented an automated
informational and educational system to manage all the above mentioned processes. The system
consists of several interconnected sub-systems, which are generally performed one goal, that is, as a
result of the conclusion - the student's individual schedule. Each subsystem of this mechanism was
implementing by group of experts to fulfill role in the overall large system. The initial part of a
larger system includes directory of disciplines and classroom fund. Further, based on the catalog of
courses, we have number of students on these subjects that will be the basis for the calculation of
academic hours[1]. Calculation of academic hours is performed in order to determine the number of
hours for a semester for the department and its disciplines. Ready calculation of academic hours,
along with a contingent of students, allows the distribution of teaching load among the teachers of
the department. Including the distribution of teaching load data and classroom fund would be
formed study schedule for a group of students, teachers, and for the classroom. Automated
information and educational system "office registrar" perform all of the above steps of forming a
schedule. It (the system) is working in semi-automatic mode. Because the specific data for the
system must be added manually.

TECHNOLOGY
An example of the introduction and use of this system could be the Department of Student
Affairs“Office Registrar"(hereinafter OR) of the Kazakh-British Technical University (hereinafter
KBTU) and its automated information and educational platform" OR (registrar's office). " Over the
past few years, this system performs the functions necessary for the scheduling of students and
teachers. The only disadvantage of the system is that the process of changing the schedule runs at
the traditional method. For example, for students to make changes to their schedules is required to
issue of request signed by officials[5]. Furthermore, managers of Department of Student
Affairsreceived a request and manually make corrections in the schedule of the student. Not hard to
imagine that in case hundreds of students’ request the process of making adjustments to the
schedule will occupy a huge amount of time. To solve issues with the time KBTU provides for
students the first study week. During this week's OR works at the most downloaded pace,
processing requests from hundreds of students. This will be followed by the depletion of the
workforce and the inefficiency of the work. Speaking in simple words, the process of changing the
schedule has been very long and not productive.
4. STUDENTS’ SCHEDULE MODIFYING SYSTEM
As an alternative, a group of KBTU students offered "add-on" to "Registrar Office" system,
in the form of a mobile application and web application for handling requests. By using the mobile
application, students will have the possibility of filing an application online through the app. That
is, the traditional method, which existed to this days, will be replaced by fully digital innovation
method, appropriate to the demands of the modern world. The whole idea of "adding" consists of
two parts. At the first part, students use the mobile application and apply for a change in the
schedule. In the second part, employees are able to handle the OR data applications (requests)
through the web application.

6. CONCLUSION
Summing up the above, we could add that a new "addition" to the automated informational
and educational system provides an opportunity to improve the work of the Department of Student
Affairs. Signs of this could be, rapid and convenient process of students’ schedule modifying
through the use of modern technologies. In KBTU such ideas are not something new and
innovative. Nevertheless, the administration has always welcomed the desire of students to
participate to improve the educational environment of students. In this regard, proposed the idea of
"adding" new features in the PR was adopted with pleasure and work was begun on the
implementation of the system in general mechanism.

Keywords: Social Networks, Influence, Mobile Application, Photo hosting.
Abstract
The article is devoted to the most popular social networks today, and for mobile applications
with their implementations. The article provides statistics of using social media, analyzed necessary
functions and technologies to implement a social network with photo hosting.
Introduction
Today it is certainly difficult to find a person who doesn’t have an account in a particular
social network. They have become a kind of an electronic equivalent of a real life, a place where
people can
communicate, find new friends. Social network - one of the most important elements of
modern society and its impact extends to the most diverse spheres of human life: culture, daily life,
education, and government. Many consumers get their information directly from the Social Media.
Even if they open the site, then they see Facebook, Twitter, Vkontakte icons, after that people go to
the page of the company in the social network. This is convenient for users, they use the site and we
are finding that they are interested, they can leave comments, to share information, make "Census"
information on your page, where it can be seen by other users, and so on up the chain. Thus, now
the changed relationship:
Target Audience → Social Media → Site → Social Media → Company

Usage statistics of social networks
According to the report referred to in Tengrinews.kz, active users of social networks in
Kazakhstan are 3.3 million people, or one-fifth of the country's population. The research was
conducted in winter 2015-2016 year. The main focus was on active users who are marked
publications at least once a month.
The most popular social network among Kazakhstan was the "VKontakte", where "sit"
1.945 million users. They publish about 45 million messages during the month. Also, statistics
show that 53.8 per cent are male and 46.2 percent are female users.
Most of audience of social
network "VKontakte" are people under 18 years old. Slightly fewer users fall under the category of
18 to 24 years. Older than 25 years - less than a quarter of the active users.

During the study were collected and indexed all public posts in social networks on the
Russian, Kazakh and other languages, as well as details of their authors. Gender and age was
determined on the basis of the information specified in the user profiles. In addition, data on the
users field were complemented by information obtained using linguistic analysis of the names and
surnames of the authors.
Impact of social networking
Social networks have a great addictive potential, ie, significant risk of dependence. There
are several reasons.
The first reason is that the work in social networks annoys pleasure centers in our brains.
We are experiencing positive emotions, every time when we read a friendly comment under our
photo, obtain the "Like" when someone leaves positive feedback, etc. The desire to re-produce
these emotions brings us back to the vast social network, forcing us to spend more and more time.
The second reason lies in the features of the assimilation of information when working in
multi-user web-based platforms. The man who sits, for example, in Vk.com gets a lot of diverse
information in small portions for a small period of time: read a very brief comment, replied
immediately opened the news, there buried his eyes in an interesting post in the community about
science.
The last reason - the speed and accessibility. In my opinion tehy are important prerequisites
for the formation of any addiction. People instinctively look for the easiest way to reach the
pleasure, let these paths are inefficient and result in harmful consequences. Get at least the habit of
smoking. Fast and affordable.
Classification
In the modern Internet there are many different social networks. We can bring a certain
classification, in which there were several new types of networks since 2008.
Type:
• Personal communication (VK)
• Networking (LinkedIn)
• Entertainment (MySpace)
• Video (YouTube)

Photo hosting
Such social associations as photo sharing and photo hosting companies are perceived more
as an additional way to attract customers. These services are mostly undemanding in terms of
material costs, but enhance the ability to captivate the user. Of all the photo sharing site Instagram
is one of the leaders in popularity among all other sites of this kind. Virtually every 2-3 minutes for
this service is pumped thousands of new photos.
Instagram - a social network with the ability to publish photos and videos on the Internet. At
the moment, the app is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The main feature of the
application is to assign each image location data, on which the pictures can be found and see, and
even at the expense of hashtags that you can specify your own, or choose from proposed.
Its features:
• Subscription for viewing photos and video from other users.
• View popular photos and videos of users.
• Set the basic functions to edit the captured images.
• Search for friends on the phone's address book.
• Selection of third-party photo hosting photo hosting.
Thus, the Instagram, a social network that has a fairly standard set of functions. Described
features will help in this study when drawing up functional.
Data analysis applications of mobile phones showed some features that should have a
modern network with photohosting:
- Ability to register through the popular social networking sites - Twitter, Facebook,
Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki. This feature facilitates the registration process and determines the
possible further development of application integration with the social network data.
- Ability to edit photos using the built-in functions. This feature is defined by modern trends
of photohosting.
- Upload photos to the "cloud" to reduce the memory usage of a particular mobile phone
user.
- Ability to view pictures from a PC expense of creating a social network.
- Ability to assess and comment on photos and albums.
- Ability to answer to the questions under photos.
