Introduction:
The fight against tuberculosis is not only a medical problem, it
is largely determined by social conditions of society’s and family’s life. This is due
to the fact that most often the source of infection of children are family members, in
close contact with adults with active tuberculosis.
Methods and materials:
An analytical study of the cohort of patients with
tuberculosis of children and adolescents had been applied descriptive, correlation
and factor analysis, was used for their processing in the statistical program SPSS 26.
Results:
We have studied the medical documentation of 36 children aged 0 to
18 years who were examined in the conditions of an anti-tuberculosis dispensary. Of
these, 9 (25%) children were under the age of 3 years, 3 (8.3%) – from 4 to 7 years,
4 (11.1%) children aged 8 to 12 years, 7 (19.4 %) children from 13 to 15 years, 13
(36.1%) children from 16 to 18 years.
The correlation analysis made it possible to explain the strength of the
connection between the phenomena in the development of the tuberculosis in
children and adolescents at the current time; it showed a moderate relationship
between the structure of local tuberculosis among children and adolescents and of
detecting with tuberculin diagnostics (p = 0.574, r≤0.05). The presence of close
contact by a patient with active tuberculosis was highly correlated between
unfavorable living conditions (p = 0,743, r≤0,01). Moderate strength of the
connection was determined between the level of social living conditions and the
outcome of the disease, then more serious condition were the living conditions of
children and adolescents such was more often the outcome of the disease, as failure
of treatment (p = 0.432, r≤0.05).
Conclusion:
Knowing the degree of correlation between indicators within
factors, we can correctly regulate the organization of early detection of local
tuberculosis among children and adolescents and carry out preventive measures to
prevent the disease in these age groups.
