Peculiarities of male speech (on the material of mass media)

The  article  is  devoted  to  the  study  of  the  peculiarities  of  the  speech  portrait  of  our 

contemporary from the standpoint of gender linguistics. The relevance of the research topic lies in 

the  insufficient  knowledge  of  the  gender  direction  of  linguistics.  The  material  of  journalistic  style 

texts (magazines in which male journalists write articles for a male audience) describes the lexical, 

morphological,  syntactic  and  stylistic  features  of  a  male  speech  portrait:  thematic  vocabulary 

groups, the use of passive vocabulary words, preferences for certain grammatical digits of parts of 

speech  (relative  adjectives  ,  verbs,  complex  and  compound  numerals,  abstract  nouns),  syntactic 

features  -  use  of  introductory  words  with  the  meaning  of  fidelity  in  communication  and  logical 

organization  of  the  text,  violation  of  the  ethical  and  stylistic  framework  of  the  culture  of  speech, 

emotional speech, a tendency to a negative assessment, a tendency to a verbal game, especially in 

the use of precedent texts.
