Annotation: In the 20-30 years of the last century, literacy of the population was widely conducted in the
country. The reason for this was the Decree on the Elimination of Illiteracy adopted in 1919 on December 26 and
the commission created in 1920 to eliminate all-Russian illiteracy of the population. According to the work of the
commission, in 1925 the first congress of the All-Kazakhstan Society for the «Elimination of Illiteracy», was held
in
the
country which was the first impetus for preventing illiteracy. In this regard, literacy courses and schools of
great cultural significance were opened in all parts of Kazakhstan.
And for the fulfillment of the above tasks, it was necessary immediately issue textbooks, grammar guides,
and auxiliary teaching aids for teachers, dictionaries of Kazakh language. In order to turn the simple Kazakh
language into the language of science and education, our scientific methodologists shared their invaluable ideas,
knowledge, and research and worked idly to justify the trust and interests of the people. One of these
methodological scientists, the founders of the language teaching methodology, is Kazhym Basymov. He wrote
more than 30 articles that set out ways to solve the problems of teaching the Kazakh language. Thus, he left his
invaluable mark in the development of the Kazakh language methodology.
The article discusses the solution of literacy issues at the beginning of the last century, theoretical and
practical aspects of teaching the Kazakh language. And also some aspects of the study of the works of the learned
methodologist Kazhym Basymov in the above direction are described.
