This article focuses on the socio-cultural competence in intercultural communication This article considers the problem of formation of socio-cultural competence in intercultural communication. The
authors detail reveal the theoretical nature of the basic concepts of "competence", "intercultural competence" and
"socio-cultural competence." In the context of the concept of "intercultural competence" is defined subkompetentsii in
learning a foreign language. Formation of socio-cultural competence is a focused learning process, the main constituent
of which is continuity and agility, providing the intellectual and cognitive development, and general cultural sphere of
students.
