The Criteria the oral presentation should meet. 1. Correspondence with the subject and purpose of representation.
2. Coherency, logic and completeness.
3. The length of the utterance.
4. Language correctness.
5. Vocabulary richness, variety of syntactical structures.
The students are supposed to express their own views on the problem. Grade «5» — the utterance is in accordance with the subject and purpose of presentation, detailed, coherent, logical and complete. The student expresses his own views on the problem raised, doesn’t need guiding questions, his verbal reaction is very quick. 3 language mistakes are permissible.
Grade «4» — a) the same as with grade «5»; 5-6 language mistakes are permissible; b) the utterance is in accordance with the subject and purpose of presentation, but is not detailed enough. The student needs guiding questions- prompts. 3 language mistakes are permissible.
Grade «3» — the utterance meets requirement, but is not detailed. The student needs guiding questions and other prompts, his verbal reaction is slow. 8 language mistakes are permissible.
Grade «2» — the utterance is not in accordance with the subject and purpose of presentation, is not detailed. The student needs additional help and makes a lot of mistakes.
The Criteria in Essay Should Meet 1. Correspondence with and comprehensive coverage of the subject and completeness of its disclosing.
2. Coherency and logic.
3. The size of the written text.
4. The level of language correctness.
5. Vocabulary richness, variety of syntactical structures.
The students are supposed to express their own views on the problem. Grade «5» — the text is in accordance with the subject, detailed, logically coherent, complete, displays rich vocabulary and variety of syntactical structures. The student expresses his/her own view on the problem raised. 2 language mistakes and 2 spelling mistakes are permissible.
Grade «4» — a) the same as with grade «5»; 4 language and 4 spelling mistakes are permissible; b) the text is in accordance with the subject, but is not detailed and coherent. 3 language and 3 spelling mistakes are permissible.
Grade «3» — the text is in accordance with the subject, but is not detailed and coherent, the student needs help (prompts). 8 language and 5—6 spelling mistakes are permissible.
Grade «2» — the text is irrelevant to the subject, not detailed and logically coherent, the student needs help, there are a lot of mistakes.
