Abstract. The article describes the methods of restoration of saline and degraded soils of the region, reduction of soil salinization by growing sugar sorghum in rice crop rotation in the conditions of Kyzylorda region. Long-term problems of regulation of irrigation systems in the conditions of crop rotations in the region are associated with secondary soil salinization, an increase in the content of salts in the soil, which negatively affects the growth and development of plants, as well as insufficient funding. Salt also has a negative effect on the absorption of mineral fertilizers into the soil, on the germination of plants, on a decrease in the number of grains per panicle, which negatively affects the yield and quality of products. In the Kyzylorda region, the most urgent is the issue of increasing organic matter in the soils of a special rice crop rotation, regulating the soil environment (pH), as well as the destruction of the subsoil in the arable soil horizon. Agrotechnical measures carried out on crops of sugar sorghum contribute to the improvement of the physical and chemical composition of the soils of rice crop rotation, as well as the destruction of weeds.
