Unit 1A Names. “Why did they call you that?”Kickstarter.com is a website that helps people 
raise money for creative projects, including new product ideas. Read about one product from 
the website. To find and discuss names of Kazakh brands, use the highlighted words and 
phrases in the product descriptions, present your names to the group of students. 
Focus on the task and on the Making suggestions, Accepting suggestions, Rejecting suggestions 
box and go through it with the class. Set a time limit for Sts to read about the three products. 
Then put them in small groups and get one person in each group to act as ‘secretary’, writing 
down all the possible ideas for names. Monitor and help, encouraging Sts to use expressions 
from the box.

Unit 1B “Life in colour”.
Write a description of your favourite room. They should write four paragraphs, as in the 
model, and use the language in the Vocabulary Bank Adjective suffixes on p.152 to help. 
Take a photo of their room and add it to the description. You could also show each other the 
photos.

Unit 2A “Get ready! Get set! Go!” Imagine that you are going to have a four-day holiday to 
any place they would like to go to. Write a series of messages to post to friends.
Focus on the instructions. Write one message for each day and time in d. Use the information 
in the Writing messages box. Ex. 8 p.19

Unit 3A “Grow up!” 
Focus on the task and the title of the forum, What kind of child were you…and have you 
changed? Read the four posts and answer the questions. Don’t worry about the options in the 
highlighted phrases. Ex. 5b, 7 p.28-29
