Abstract. This article describes the origins and traditions of Russian patriotism. The
history of Russian patriotism comes from the distant past. Throughout the existence of the
Russian state from Ancient Russia to modern times formed the tradition of Russian patriotism.
At the present stage, the development of this institution has undergone some changes, but it
continues in recent years, the Patriotic education of the younger generation comes from the
interests of the Russian state.
