Тема: Sport is a guarantee of health Grammar: Adverbs of frequency Adverbs of frequency are adverbs that answer the question "How often?" ("how often"). I immediately recall such well-known adverbs as: “always” (always), “often” (often), “seldom” (rarely), “never” (never). However, there are much more adverbs of frequency (also called “adverbs of frequency” in Russian). Here are some more of them: “again and again” (again and again), “usually” (usually), “rarely” (rarely), “occasionally” (from time to time, sometimes), “sometimes” (sometimes), “ normally" (usually), "constantly" (constantly), "regularly" (regularly), etc. All adverbs of frequency can be divided into two large groups: adverbs of a certain frequency (definite frequency); adverbs of indefinite frequency. In the above table, adverbs of indefinite frequency are presented, because. they do not give an exact answer to the question "How often". Agree that “often” or “rarely” are purely individual concepts. For example, for the average person, going to the pool twice a week is common, but for a professional swimmer, it is very rare. Adverbs of indefinite frequency can be reinforced with words such as: "very" (very), "quite" (enough), "fairly" (quite). But adverbs of definite frequency give a specific answer to the question “how often?”. These include: every morning / week / day / year ... (every morning / every week / every day / every year ...), twice a week (twice a week), five times (five times), daily (daily) and t .P. NB! In English there is a rule of one negation! This means that if the sentence contains an adverb with a negative meaning, i.e. never (never), almost never (almost never), then you do not need to use the particle “not”. For example, in Russian we can say: I have never smoked. But in English it will sound like: I have never smoked. The place of adverbs of frequency in an English sentence.
