GEOPOLITICAL FACTORS IN THE ILI REGION IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY
Annotation
In the years of independence, scientific issues on socio-political and economic history and ethnography of the
Ili region in the XIX century was one of the most topical issues in the national historical science. In the XVIII
century, this region was included іnto the Qing Empire, then in the region the Chinese government pursued a
colonial policy. At the beginning of the XIX century, with the weakening of Chinese authority in Eastern
Turkestan, the Ili region faced geopolitical issues between the world powers. The scientific article examines the
geopolitical problems between China, Russia and the Kokand khanate in the Ili region in the first half of the XIX
century. The main research task of the study is to examine the issues related to trade in the Kulja province, and the

rivalry between the Russian Empire and China. Analyzed the historical significance and political consequences of
