| Brief description: Studies the subject and methods of systematics of higher and lower plants. Systematics, classification, nomenclature. Examines the diversity of structure, lifestyle and nutritional characteristics of lower plants. Prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Levels of plant organization: precellular, cellular and tissue. Classification of the plant world. Phylogeny of basic taxonomic groups. Classification of higher plants.
