The Gerunds in the Old and Middle Turkic Texts
Abstract:
Adverbial participle is one of the commonly occurring types of verb. In compari-
son with the modern language, the adverbial participle is one of grammatical catego-
ries of a verb and has shown specific historical changes. Some adverbial participles
have reached today with changes, some have not. Even though some adverbial par-
ticiples are used today are not seen in the old texts. It was widely applied on Middle
Ages monuments.
This article examines the history of the formation forms of adverbial participles
in ancient and medieval monuments. The historical analysis of adverbial participle
