TEАCHING PSYCHOLOGY THROUGH FILM
Abstract.
The article examines the results of the questioning of students, the purpose of which was to
identify the effectiveness of the application of the method of watching films in the study of the subject of
psychology.
Research with using the Elements of the method of teaching psychology through film was used in the autumn
semester of the 2020-2021 academic year in the discipline of psychology with the International University of
information technologies students. Total number of students 250.
In addition, in order to demonstrate the experience of teaching psychology through film, the authors give
as an example the independent work of students of the International Information Technology University on the
subject of psychology.
The first independent work is a psychological analysis of the personality traits (temperament, personality
type, motivation) of the protagonist of the film “Peaceful Warrior” Dan Milman, based on a true story. The
second independent work is a psychological analysis of the personality of Chris Gardner, the protagonist of the
American biographical film “The Pursuit of Happyness”.
