In Turkmen folk medicine, a decoction of dried fig leaves and roots is prescribed
for disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and anemia, and fresh fruits are used as a
means of wound healing. Decoction of the fruit cures cystitis and nephritis. Figs are
also prescribed as a diuretic and expectorant in cases of constant constipation, and in
acute inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract, it is recommended to eat the
fruit boiled in milk. The milky juice of its leaves, young branches and immature fruits
is useful for healing wounds, wound healing, removing small stones and sand from the
kidneys, warts and blemishes on the body. In angina and inflammatory diseases of the
upper respiratory tract, fig jam is drunk with tea.
Headache. It is useful to cook figs and walnuts and eat 100 g every day for four
days. Eating figs and walnuts twice a day can cure headaches.
Inflammation of the bronchi. If you eat 10-15 figs boiled in milk, the cough
will disappear. It also treats inflammation of the adrenal glands.
Bronchial asthma. In folk medicine, figs have long been used effectively as a
remedy for nausea, chest pain, bronchial asthma, expectorants and coughs. To do this,
take 400 g of figs, pour four liters of water and boil for 15 minutes. Drink half a glass
three times a day for half an hour before a meal. Ibn Sina recommended boiling the
fruit with milk to remove phlegm and cough. 300 g of figs are boiled in 400 ml of milk
and have a good effect on cough and expectoration. Regular consumption of figs and
pepper can cure phlegm and shortness of breath. A decoction made from the bark is
recommended as a remedy for severe cough. It should be taken 4-5 times a day before
meals in a glass for 3-4 days.
