Abstrat. The article deals with the purification of a suspension of natural sorbents, taking into account the fact that their practical application is due to the high sorption capacity, the absorption of substances in various aggregate states, selective sorption, and sufficient mechanical strength.
One of the important factors of the effectiveness of the use of natural sorbents is the low cost of sorbents and the ease of their detection as a local material. Montmorillonite bentonite deposits Tagan East Kazakhstan region, characterized by monomineralic composition (only kaolinite was as a minor impurity) in the exchange complex cations of sodium above the content of the cations of calcium and magnesium but less of their content. High results can be obtained with the help of Tagansky bentonite in the purification of water and soil. In water, bentonites swell or break down into small particles. Therefore, the effect of surface-active polymers on the bentonite clay suspension was studied. In water, bentonites swell or break down into small particles. Therefore, the effect of surface-active polymers on the bentonite clay suspension was studied. High results are achieved through the use of flocculants in combination with coagulants when cleaning suspensions. The most effective flocculation agents are polyelectrolytes with a high molecular weight. In this case, it is recommended to use them in very small quantities, since their excess stabilizes the suspension. The use of flocculants allows you to reduce the dose of coagulants, reduce the duration of the coagulation process and increase the deposition rate of the resulting flakes. In both cases, it is possible not only to improve the precipitation characteristics of the dispersed system, but also to reduce the consumption of expensive reagents. Thus, the analysis of the obtained data shows the important role of the bridge formation mechanism in the flocculation of dispersed systems by surface-active polymers.
