How does Captain Ahab feel about Moby Dick?
The whale instilled fear in all ships with its ferocity and size, cunning. Keith always won at every fight with people. Because of what, a legend has developed among people that after a fight with a whale, no one survives. It was the white whale that deprived the captain of his leg. Now Captain Ahab has announced that he will seek and pursue Moby Dick until he is done with him.
  • Who is Ishmael? How do you think Ishmael feels about Moby Dick?

  • A young sailor who, from the very first pages of the novel, shows an increased interest in everything related to whales. He admits that sea life is able to distract him from that depressed state, from which he cannot be saved on land. Ishmael treats sperm whales not only as a source of wealth or fame as a sailor, he seeks to learn new things without breaking boundaries, and notices every detail, collects information about the White Whale bit by bit. The young man, unlike the indifferent Stubb and projecting his thoughts and feelings outside Ahab, is capable of intuitive knowledge of the truth.
  • Do you feel sorry for Captain Ahab, or angry with him? Why? What kind of man was he before he met Moby Dick? Write about him.

  • I'm sorry for Captain Ahab. because he lost his leg fighting Moby Dick and devoted his whole life to fighting the white whale under the influence of anger and revenge. No matter how long his family waited, he eventually died. Ahab is a complex, contradictory, ambiguous character. It fuses romantic mystery, biblical age-old pain of humanity, fanatical hatred of Evil and the same unlimited ability to create it.
