Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common respiratory diseases and at
the present stage is an important health problem, as it is associated with a steady increase in labor loss,
morbidity, prevalence and mortality. The main reason that makes it difficult to choose the optimal treatment
tactics for a patient with COPD and reduces its effectiveness is that such patients, as a rule, have a number of
concomitant chronic diseases. In addition, comorbid conditions very often lead to a decrease in the quality of
life already in the early stages of COPD, increase the costs in the healthcare system for a set of measures to
support patients with obstructive pulmonary diseases. In this review, we would like to consider
cardiovascular diseases concomitant with COPD, since they are among the most frequent and significant for
the prognosis of nosologies in this category of patients, as well as provide up-to-date data on relevant clinical
recommendations concerning the management of comorbid patients with COPD.
Keywords: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, comorbid conditions, arterial hypertension,
