TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN A GENERAL EDUCATION
SCHOOL USING THE CLIL METHOD 
In Kazakhstan since 2019 according to the project of the trinity of 
languages in general education schools high school students have been 
taught physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science in English. The 
main aim of the project is to enable students to become competitive in 
the global labor market in the future, to have the opportunity to exchange 
world knowledge, participate in international scientific projects, navigate 
modern technologies and information, and speak English. 
This article considers our research results of teaching mathematics in 
English as a new science included to the list of school subjects mentioned 
above, for an experimental group of students in grade 7. 
In addition to mastering the students’ subject content in the classroom 
the aim of the research is also to use one of the methods of language 
teaching – subject-language integrated learning (CLIL). The benefits of 
this method is to improve the classroom learning environment, reduce 
learning time, and expand and deepen the learning concept. Methodological 
recommendations to didactic materials used for productive teaching of 
algebra using the CLIL method are given. The conditions of implementation, 
difficulties and advantages of the conducted classes in multilingual 
education are analyzed in specific examples.
