Summary
The importance of formation of information competence of future specialists in higher education institutions

This article deals with the formation of information competence of the future specialist in higher education. The
article reveals concepts such as "information society", "information", "information competence", which have
philosophical and pedagogical sense. At present, the development of education is closely linked to the development and
the ability to work with all types of information technology. In this regard, the formation of students' information
technology competence is primarily due to the need to use information technology in all processes of educational
activity. The increase in information space in modern conditions makes it possible to access the Internet, e-library,
distance education and awareness-use software programs. In this regard, the formation of information competence is
related to skills such as informed decision-making, self-goal setting, study them, planning and implementation.
