Еpos “Er Tostic”: kazakh, kyrgyz, tarat options

The article explores the classic fairy tale of  the Kazakh folklore “Yer Tostik” as an example 

of an ancient epos, and compares it with the samples of other peoples. Samples of Siberian Tatars 

are  analyzed  in  comparison  with  the  epos  belonging  to  the  Kyrgyz  folklore  and  its  prosaic  form. 

“Yer Tostik” refers to the common heritage of the Kazakh, Tatar and Kyrgyz peoples. Features of 

the content of all samples of this epic give an idea of the worldview and life of  the ancient people. 

The  motives,  system  of  characters  and  mythological  “layers”  are  analyzed  comprehensively  and 

thus produce certain conclusions.
