kazakh people
In article it is spoken about traditional occupation of the Kazakh people – tanning production. Are specified,
what products were made by the population where this trade was most of all widespread. The attention to the reasons
of increase in demand to rawhide especially in the XIX century is paid. Data are provided in article from archival
documents of archives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. These data allow to see extent of
development of tanning production in the Kazakh steppe.
