What you can do 
There are many steps you and others in your household can take to reduce your risk of contracting 
the COVID -19 virus and the risk of transmitting it to others. 
· Get vaccinated. 

Avoid close contact with people who are sick or have symptoms. 

Keep distance between yourself and others when in public buildings if you aren't fully 
vaccinated. This is especially important if you're at higher risk for severe illness. 

Wear a well-fitting face mask in enclosed public spaces if you're in an area where many people 
with COVID -19 are hospitalized and new COVID -19 cases are occurring, whether you're 
vaccinated or not. The CDC recommends wearing the most protective mask possible that is 
worn regularly, fits well, and is comfortable. 

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-
based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. 

Avoid crowds and indoor areas with poor air circulation.

· Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. 
Throw away the used handkerchief. Wash your hands immediately. 
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. 
· Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched, such as doorknobs, light 
switches, electronic devices, and counters. 
· Stay away from work, school, and public facilities, and stay home if you're sick unless you're 
going for medical care. Avoid public transportation, cabs, and ride-hailing services when you're 
sick. 
Take care of yourself and your baby first and foremost. Contact your health care provider to discuss 
any concerns. If you have trouble managing stress or anxiety, talk to your doctor or a mental health 
counselor about coping strategies.
