L.M. Sabaraikina Difficulties in Yakut-French Literary Translation The article discusses translation difficulties, and the Yakut texts‘ lexical and
stylistic difficulties in translation. It is stated that translating Yakut figurative words,
which are widely used in Yakut literature, is an especially difficult task, because of their
specific semantics. The author argues that they are widely used in both, the oral speech
and in literary works, but not all the figurative words have their direct equivalent in the
language of translation. The authors give examples from translated works.
