Experimental. At present, professional training of future specialists is carried out against the background of socio-economic difficulties and a lack of resources. Along with this, first-year students encounter a whole range of new conditions characteristic of vocational training. They must immediately engage in intense work that requires the use of all abilities, and overcoming the novelty of the conditions of educational activity requires significant expenditure of the body's forces [4].
The problem of the formation of effective adaptation to the conditions of education at a university occupies a special place among the most important and, at the same time, not completely solved problems of modern physiology. This is due to a number of reasons, one of which is that the level and adequacy of the organism's adaptation to the new social and informational environment is the most important condition for mastering a future profession. Another reason is that currently, in the context of reforming the education system, there is an increase in the volume of teaching load, an intensification of teaching, a change in the forms and methods of teaching, and an increase in pedagogical requirements. All this, in turn, leads to significant stress of the adaptive-compensatory systems of the organism of students, which in some cases leads to a breakdown in adaptation and, as a consequence, to a significant decrease in mental and physical performance [5].
Research conducted by V.F. Kirichuk et al. (1987, 1989) indicate that shifts in the functional state of physiological systems, including the visual sensory system, are manifestations of the adaptive reactions of the trainees' organism. Visual performance is one of the criteria for adaptation to training load and resistance to fatigue [6].
It is known that in conditions of general physical fatigue, emmetropes develop a myopic setting of the eyes (Volkov V.V., Shamshinova A.M., 2004). Many authors consider the enhancement of refraction as one of the manifestations of the body's reaction to unfavorable factors of endo- and exogenous nature, therefore, we can talk not so much about spasm as about autonomic dysfunction (Dashevsky A.I., 1956).
The data presented confirm the need to study the functional state of the visual sensory system in the dynamics of vocational training. The presence of a high need for professional training practice in the study of the functional capabilities of the visual sensory system determines the relevance of this study. We have not come across information in the literature on the study of the patterns of changes in the functional state of the visual sensory system, developing during the performance of visually strenuous work in the process of professional and educational activities of students. No scientifically grounded system of preventive measures was found to optimize the functional state of the visual sensory system to improve the performance of university cadets. The lack of such data in the literature served as the basis for the implementation of this study.
The purpose of our study and the study of the functional state of the visual sensory system of higher school students in the conditions of professional activity throughout the entire period of study is to develop a methodological approach to the prevention of visual fatigue and the progression of myopia. A number of tasks were investigated in table 1.
