UDC 615.32:582.734 CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF THE AGRIMONIA ASIATICA EXTRACTS Kozykeyeva Raushan PhD student at JSC NMU, Almaty, Kazakhstan
Scientific consultants - Datkhayev Ubaidilla, Patsayev Anapiya ABSTRACT Agrimonia asiatica is one of the valuable plant source of drugs in traditional medicine
used from an ancient time in China, Japan due to containing of many biologically active
compounds. Agrimonia genusbioactive compounds exhibit antiviral, antibacterial, anti-
inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and antioxidant activity. By this way, we have selected aerial
part of A.asiatica to study their phytoconstituents. For the phytochemial analysis dried
powdered aerial part of A.asiatica was extracted with organic solvents: chloroform, ethanol
(96%). Prepared extracts were used to carry out qualitative phytochemical analyses by using
GC-MS method.
Keywords:Agrimonia asiatica, GC-MS, phytochemicals, bioactive compounds,
neophytodiene.
Introduction. The plant A.asiatica belongs to the family Rosaceae, which comprises
over 300 plant species occurring worldwide. In Kazakhstan, A.asiatica is a native plant growing
commonly in meadow, scrub, and ruderal communities across lowland areas and lower montane
zones, along forest margins and on slopes. The species is a widespread plant. The plant blooms
in July and August. Herba agrimoniae herb is the therapeutic material from A.eupatoria L. It is
a source of many bioactive compounds, primarily terpenes, phenolic compounds, tannins,
flavonoids, proteins, carbohydrates, and vitamins [1]. Agrimonia eupatoria L. from the
Rosaceae family has emerged as a potential source of phenolic constituents, showing
antioxidant activities [2]. In previous studies from dried aerial parts of Agrimonia pilosa a
homogenous polysaccharide (APP) was isolated and Gas chromatography (GC) and GC-MS
analysis revealed that APP has a backbone of 1,3-linked Glcp and 1,3, 6-linked Glcp, and
branched with 1-linked Glcp terminal along the main chain in a relative ratio of 2:1:1. Scientists
investigated the response of human osteosarcoma U-2 OS cells to APP treatment [3]. As the
aerial parts of the plants genus Agrimoni have many pharmacological activity, hence the
present investigation to evaluate that phytoconstituent of aerial parts of the plant with the help
of GC-MS, which will help for further pharmacological evaluation. Several phytoconstituents
analyses have been carried out in many parts of the world by GC-MS technique [4].The aim of
this study is to identify qualitative volatile compounds of the A.asiatica extracts
