One of the most important components of the model of competitive personality is a command of a foreign language,
which allows a professional specialist to establish business contacts and intercultural relations. New political and socio-
economic changes in Kazakhstan in recent decades, its desire to actively and fruitfully cooperate with Western countries
greatly influenced the expansion of functions of the foreign language as a subject and led to a rethinking of the goal,
objectives and content of foreign languages education. The new political situation, the expansion of international
cooperation and international contacts require not only a knowledge of foreign language, but also a foreign language
culture. In this regard the need of society and students themselves for a language proficiency as an important means of
carrying out business and intercultural communication becomes especially urgent.
