p.46-47, ex.12 1. A competition of professional skills, "Celebrating the Worker!" among oil and gas extraction operators, took place at the Kalchinskoye oil and gas field. Oil workers at one of the wells performed complex tasks showcasing their expertise. The competition is primarily aimed at reviving respect for the working person in society and also allows us to recognize the most promising and talented employees.
2. An exhibition titled "Saratov through the Eyes of an Artist" has opened at the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore. The exhibition features over 40 works, including painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative applied art. The project involves 22 Saratov artists. The exhibition has a local history focus. The presented paintings depict recognizable parts of the city, historic alleyways, and the Volga River during different seasons. In V. A. Apin's engraving, one can see an interesting historical scene. This is how one of the central intersections of the city looked at the beginning of the 20th century. An attentive viewer may even spot P.A. Stolypin, the governor of Saratov at that time, among the characters.
3. Serbia celebrated Science Day on July 10 with numerous events. This holiday coincides with the birthday of one of the greatest minds in the world, Nikola Tesla, the author of a series of unique inventions such as the rotating magnetic field, asynchronous motor, generator, and transformer, as well as wireless energy transmission. He constructed experimental models of electric clocks, turbines, solar-powered engines, and patented several inventions that form the foundation of modern electrical engineering.
