(Kazakhstan) THE INTERRELATION BETWEEN CONTEXTUAL GRAMMAR AND CRITICAL THINKING IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES Summary: This article provides crucial information about what critical thinking and contextual grammar is, followed by the examples of their use. The aim of the present study is to share about the importance of thinking critically during the grammar teaching processes. Main part points to three contacts between critical thinking and contextual grammar in foreign language teaching. They are: common characteristics of critical thinking and context-based-grammar, role of analyses on the information, development of language acquisition. The activities carried out in the paper introduce the effectiveness of learning grammatical topics by imagining, relating questions to something they are familiar with, and consequences of thinking critically. Practical part has centered on examining bachelor students’ skills of expressing the opinions, recognizing a context, work with various types of tasks in foreign language class. Then, the differences between inductive and deductive are outlined to make it explicit for the learners. As a final point, the ways to acquire these skills in inductive reasoning are also included into the paper. Key words: contextual grammar, critical thinking, association, language acquisition Резюме: В этой статье представлена информация о критическом мышлении и контекстной грамматике, также приведены примеры их использования на практике. Цель этой статьи – рассмотреть о важности критического мышления в процессе обучения грамматике. Основная часть показывает три основных связи между критическим мышлением и контекстной грамматикой в обучении иностранному языку. К ним относятся: общие характеристики критического мышления и контекстной грамматики, роль анализирования информации, развитие усвоения языка. Упражнения представленные в статье демонстрируют эффективность изучения грамматических тем путем воображения, ассоциации, также представлены последствия использования критического мышления. Практическая часть посвящается заданиям, которые делают фокус на умения студентов выражать свои мысли, распознавать контекст, работать с различными типами заданий на уроках иностранного языка.
