3. International Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of fight against corruption
The Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025 (approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 26, 2014) contains a section 4.6. titled "Development of international cooperation in combating corruption." The section presents the most important aspects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and other countries in the context of the goals and objectives achieved and solved in a joint struggle against corruption.
The priority tasks of international cooperation, according to the provisions of this section of the Strategy include:
1) further expansion and deepening of such cooperation;
2) improvement of anti-corruption policies on the basis of cooperation of Kazakhstan with the European Union, the use of foreign experience, but taking into account our peculiarities and national legislation;
3) signing of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the relevant international treaties and agreements aimed at ensuring the transparency of offshore companies through which exported abroad and legalized capital, including dubious origin;
4) The continuation of the practice of international anti-corruption measures, partici- pation
in the authoritative international organizations;
5) the preservation of the Republic of Kazakhstan's reputation authoritative dialogue platform to discuss the fight against transnational corruption.
It must be borne in mind that before the adoption of anti-corruption strategy referred to above the Republic of Kazakhstan already has significant experience in international anti-corruption activities.
Acts of international character, which the Republic of Kazakhstan are:
- Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 4, 2008 "On the ratification of the UN Convention against Corruption of 31 October 2003.";
- Agreement on the procedure for interaction between the host and of law enforcement in the territories of CIS countries - signed and ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan in June 1999;
- Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 10, 2004 "On ratification of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters of 7 October 2022".
Appropriate agreements on legal assistance and legal relations in civil and criminal matters signed between Kazakhstan and countries such as Mongolia, India, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the People's Democratic Republic, the Republic of Turkey and others.
