And the emphasis in skill formation varies by application. In the framework of this
study, we are interested in profile-oriented foreign language training, so I would like to highlight the
skills being developed in this particular area of knowledge. A. N. Schukin emphasizes the
improvement of speech skills and abilities through the participation of students in the discussion of a
problem situation. In working with a case study method, students need the following skills [7, p.475]:
- perception and evaluation of verbal and non-verbal information;
-diagnostics and problem analysis;
- formulating and building statements according to language norms;
- participation in discussion, collective decision making.
Also, researcher Fisher claims that the use of the method contributes to the development of
reading, speaking, listening and writing skills in a foreign language [8, p.54]. Therefore, a case study
is understood as a holistic method, since language skills do not develop separately. Conversation
skills are developed through discussion, the presentation of their opinions and scientific research. As
students work with the text, they become more confident in reading professional texts in a foreign
language in searching for information on a given topic. Speaking about the development of writing
skills, students often present the results of the work in writing, for example, as an essay containing a
report on the work done. As for listening skills, here we are talking primarily about the participants
listening to the presentation, the arguments presented in the discussion, as well as the integration of
authentic audio and video materials, which also provides tremendous opportunities for listening.
For turning information into knowledge, a student needs to restructure his or her past
experience and make it a means of regulating his or her communication in situations that he or she
will encounter in future work activities. Thus, the content of the contextual training includes the
subject and social competence of the future specialist, his ability to performing a holistic professional
activity.
Сontexts of the student’s professional activities can be reproduced fragmentarily in
