Exercise 106. Comment on the form and use of the Sub-
junctive Mood. Translate the sentences into Russian:
A
1. Universal and complete disarmament would exclude war 
from the life of society.
2. Unnecessary punishment would be both irresponsible and 
harmful to society.
3. Universal and complete disarmament would mark the begin-
ning of a new phase in the development of human society — a world 
without war.
4. The absence of legal regulation would lead to a considerable 
disorganization and would entail most serious consequences for all 
states.
5. The fact could have been proved by the testimony of the eye-
witness.
6. A little care would have prevented the accident.
B
1. I suggest that he should testify at the trial.
2. He demands that the judge should announce the verdict.
3. We insist the witness be interviewed without delay.
