Conclusion. The role of assessment is paramount in any type of instruction. That is why each
educator tries to implement the most effective strategies into their classrooms. As distance
education is being implemented not only in universities, but also in elementary, middle and high
schools, most of the teachers in our country struggling with the choice of most suitable assessment
strategies. As alternative assessment strategies and tools allow learners learn without anxiety,
making learning process enjoyable it is possible use them on ongoing basis. However, it is not
possible to use them all the time. In case of summative assessment, which is used for final
evaluation in the end of each term it is better to use traditional assessment tools such as
standardized tests or multiple-choice tests with the help of technologies as it can guarantee higher
reliability and validity.
