1. The term economics is a science studying how a society 
uses resources to produce commodities and distribute them among 
people.

2. The major goal of economics is to define the most effective 
way of managing the economic life of the country.
3. The term of «an economy» means a system of management, 
use and control of goods, money and other resources of the coun-
try.
4. The economy comprises people, companies, the government 
of the country, local authorities, decisions about prices, import, 
export and other matters.
5. There are three types of an economy: a command economy, 
a market economy, and a mixed economy.
6. The command economy is called when the government of 
the country makes decisions about production and distribution of 
goods and services.
7. The market economy is a case when the questions connected 
with production and distribution of goods are solved by private 
firms.
8. The mixed economy uses the elements of market and com-
mand.
9. Macroeconomics is the interaction in the economy as a 
whole.
10. Microeconomics deals with people, economic decisions made 
by people, as well as, how companies run their business within their 
countries.
11. There is a close interconnection between macroeconomics 
and microeconomics.
